Borage oil is a oil extracted from the seed of borage flower which is also known as star flower. This borage flower is found in syria, but can also be found in other parts of the world including Asia, Europe, South America, North Africa and the Mediterranean regions. Borage flowers are usually blue in color but other varieties can also be found. Pink and white varieties. The oil derived from the seed contains anti-inflammatory properties which is widely used for the treatment of most skin diseases of which Acne is one of them. It is quite good for soothing inflamed and irritated skin. Borage oil contains the essential fatty acid known as gammalinolex acid, which is very good in maintaining a healthy skin. The oil also helps in promoting the growth of healthy skin cells. Since it contains vitamin C and certain minerals, it plays an important role in keeping most skin problems at bay, particularly acne. For the treatment of acne, borage oil can be used topically. It is also available in form of capsules and gel. It is necessary that you consult a physician before using it to know the appropriate dosage you can use. Borage oil can be toxic if taken excessively so make sure take it only on recommended dosage. and under a doctor's supervision. This Borage oil is not good for people with liver problem so avoid Borage oil supplements. Apart from using Borage oil in the treatment of acne, it can also be used for treating arthritis, premenstrual syndrome, hot flashes, breast tenderness, damaged hair to mention a few
